Ocean Prime Will Replace Roy’s On Sansom Street
PhillyEater reports that Ocean Prime will replace Roy’s at the 15th and Sansom Streets in Center City. Ocean Prime Philadelphia will be owner Cam Mitchell’s 10th Ocean Prime restaurant and the opening is scheduled for Spring of 2013.

OPENING AT CENTER CITY IN SPRING 2013! We are pleased to announce that we will open a new location in Philadelphia, PA, in Spring 2013!We are excited to bring Ocean Prime to Center City. This will be our tenth Ocean Prime location, and our first venture into Pennsylvania.
Ocean Prime is the culmination of a creative exercise we started in 2006 to define the best in culinary, beverage, service and atmosphere. Our team wanted to pair a great steakhouse with a great seafood restaurant. We imagined a place where our guests are greeted by name and partner with us in adventures of great food, wine and libation. In August 2006 we opened Mitchell’s Ocean Club in our hometown, Columbus, Ohio. As we expanded our Modern American supper club concept outside Ohio, we renamed it Ocean Prime, with “Prime” reflecting our commitment to serving the highest quality steak, seafood, handcrafted cocktails and award-winning wines. We’ve opened nine locations to much success, and we look forward to opening our tenth location, Philadelphia, in Spring 2013. Ocean Prime was not developed overnight. Our executive chef teams traveled, tasted and compared notes to refine a menu that would ignite curiosity and surpass expectations. Our operations teams sourced the finest and the freshest ingredients to elevate every plate that leaves our kitchen. We curated a Wine Spectator-honored wine list for perfect pairings. And we poured energy with a fresh twist into the creation of our signature cocktails, expertly prepared by our well-trained bar chefs. The space can hold 260 guests, with additional space for 60 people in the lounge. Menus are pretty much standard across the board for each Ocean Prime, with the most expensive dish being twin lobster tails for $44. The wine list is quite deep, and other Ocean Prime locations offer 50 different wines by the glass. While the thought of another steakhouse in Center City Philly is hard to swallow, a supper club seafood restaurant is a nice change of pace for the expense account set.
