Fresh off the heels of my recent posts about HipCityVeg, Honeygrow and Pure Fare it seems another health conscious restaurant is making it’s way from Ocean City, NJ to Center City, Philadelphia – PURE TACOS!.
I first got wind of the Pure Tacos opening on the GlutenFreePhillywebsite
The owners of Ocean City’s all-gluten-free taquería (Pure Tacos) have settled on the site of their Philadelphia location. Plans are for Pure Tacos to build out the space at 1935 Chestnut Street in Center City West – the former Christian Science Reading Room – in time for a February opening. Pure Tacos debuted on the Ocean City Boardwalk two summers ago to critical acclaim, and its urban foray is the first in a planned expansion. Unlike the original Jersey Shore location, the Philly outpost will have seating. The tacos-and-nachos menu will be brought over, but also look for a flavored guacamole concept at the new spot.

IT’S OFFICIAL! Pure Tacos is opening its second location in Center City Philadelphia! 1935 Chestnut St. (between 19th and 20th) is our newest home, opening in late May. It will feature everything you love on about our original location plus our new housemade guacamole, 30 seats and more!

In the end, we hope to exceed your expectations with a time tested meal from our authentic or classic menus or food that is completely new to you from our fusion menu. Fast food restaurants serve a great purpose: sell mediocre food at a low price. Table service restaurants instead use food as a vehicle to sell you an experience. However, the ultimate product is lacking in both instances. The quality of fast food is poor, while most sit down restaurants offer their customers little value. Pure Tacos mission is to offer a great food experience you would get at a high-end restaurant but at a good value so customers can enjoy their food without worrying about cost. Great food should be accessible to people who don’t want to pay the high price of an elaborate food experience. We keep everything simple other than the food at Pure Tacos and, as a result, are accomplishing our mission.
