Graduate Hospital YWCA To Become Townhomes?
Graduate Hospital – Many in the Philadelphia Real Estate community know that the old YWCA located at 1607-15 in Graduate Hospital has been on the market at an asking price of 2,250,000 for some time. I haven’t heard any rumors of a new owner yet but I did notice that there will be a 2nd presenation at the January SOSNA meeting regarding an “application for the renovation of the existing structure for use as 20 dwellings (revised down from 23) with 15 accessory parking spaces.” It seems like there may be some activity on the property and possibly even a new buyer working in conjunction with the current ownership. The YWCA building has been vacant for quite some time and the property and adjacent lot are interesting because of the development potential. These lots together exceed 10,000 square feet and the interior square footage of the property is over 37,000 square feet. A significant amount of development has occurred on all sides of this property and these lots remain one of the largest potential development lots in Graduate Hospital. I’ll be watching closely and keep you posted.
