Overview

Located south of Society Hill, Queen Village consists of the blocks between Front and 6th streets and Lombard Street to Washington Avenue. The narrow streets are lined with shady mature trees and attractive homes. Queen Village is one of the longest-established neighborhoods in Philadelphia, and that fact is reflected in the feeling of pride that residents take in living here. Historically, the area was known for its large Irish immigrant community. The Old Swedes’ Church, completed in 1700, is the oldest building in Philadelphia and over 800 homes and buildings in the neighborhood are listed on the historic register.

More about Queen Village

Within Queen Village are Fashion Row and Headhouse Square. The former lives up to its name as an area with a fantastic selection of fabrics, textiles, and couture available for purchase. Shopping reigns here, but it is also home to great dining. Headhouse Square is a beautiful, historic open area bordered by fantastic restaurants and cafes. Immediately to the south is Second Street, which features lush green space surrounded by homey pubs.

Queen Village is home to a slew of restaurants, bars, and nightlife options. The fact that the neighborhood is so walkable and Bella Vista is nearby means that you will never run short of places to socialize! Each evening, the Night Market brings hungry residents out in droves, making for a real feeling of community… as well as a fantastic place to get some grub!

Real estate in Queen Village reflects the fact that resident median income and home values here are among the highest in Philadelphia. Beautiful 18th and 19th century townhomes make up the bulk of the residential architecture, some with rooftop patios that make a great place to hang out with friends and family. Affluent, pretty, and full of neighborly charm, it’s impossible not to fall in love with Queen Village.
